E. Quinton Oil Painting, Mountainside

This oil on board painting features a mountainside villiage, reminiscent of the French Alps. Signed "E. Quinton" in the lower right, with location noted on back, illegible. Oil on art board.

Son of Clement Quinton, Edmond Quinton is a known French painter active in the impressionist / naturalist style of painting. Edmond lived from 1892-1969, he was most active in the 1930's and 1940's, painting scenes of France. This piece is truly a legacy piece, something that can be handed down from generation to generation, as comps online are going for $700-$1300.
